What You’ll Do
- Lead the development of scalable, reliable data infrastructure solutions.
- Mentor and guide Data Engineers while supporting data stakeholders across the business.
- Design, build, and optimize robust ETL/ELT pipelines and workflows.
- Collaborate with cross-functional product engineering teams to meet Codecademy’s (Skillsoft’s learning brand) data requirements.
- Ensure data solutions are performant, secure, and aligned with business needs.
What You’ll Need
- 8–10 years of hands-on experience building and maintaining large-scale ETL systems.
- Strong expertise in database design, data structures, SQL, and NoSQL.
- Proficiency in Python for data engineering tasks.
- Experience with cloud-based data platforms (AWS preferred).
- Solid data warehousing skills; ability to write efficient, production-grade SQL queries.
- Strong project management and stakeholder communication skills, with the ability to turn requirements into results.
What Will Make You Stand Out
- Hands-on experience with tools in our data stack: Apache Airflow, Snowflake, dbt, FastAPI, S3, Looker.
- Knowledge of streaming technologies such as Kafka, Kafka Connect, Spark.
- Familiarity with databases like Snowflake, Postgres, MongoDB.
- Comfort with containerization and orchestration technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).
